Munich School Foundation

“Children should enjoy going to school and be able to learn without fear.” is a principle of the non-profit Munich School Foundation – Ernst v. Borries.

It comprises 5 institutions: The state-approved Jan Amos Comenius Elementary school (Pasing), the Jan Amos Comenius Children’s House with crèche and kindergarten (Pasing), the Lumberjack Forest Kindergarten (Lochhausen), the state-approved Obermenzing High School and the state-approved Dr. Florian Überreiter Private High School (Haidhausen).

Our two grammar schools introduce themselves:

Obermenzinger Gymnasium (since 1961).

The state-approved Obermenzinger Gymnasium is a private rhythmic all-day school with a business and language branch.

One of the two 5th to 10th grade classes is a bilingual German-English class.

In these bilingual classes, the bilingual concept of our Jan Amos Comenius Kindergarten and Primary School is continued.

The concept was developed several years ago in cooperation with the Chair of Bilingualism at the University of Eichstätt and was accompanied in its beginnings. 3-5 subjects are alternately taught in English at Obermenzinger each school year. The goal remains the Bavarian Abitur.
Special support is available for students with lower German language skills.

All students are taught in a two-teacher system, which means that in the lower and middle school, in addition to the subject teacher, there is also a pedagogical assistant or, in the bilingual classes, a language assistant who accompanies the students through the school day (homework time, breaks, excursions).

With our ABI plus® program (Abitur + vocational training), students have the opportunity to acquire a vocational qualification in the field of business and/or multimedia up to the 11th grade. This is unique in Germany.

Very popular is also the canteen with 2 cooks who cook every day with regional, seasonal and daily fresh products.

The refectory and all classrooms have high performance air cleaners.

We cordially invite you to our online information evening starting 20.01.2021 at www.obermenzinger.de

The Privatgymnasium Dr. Florian Überreiter in Munich-Haidhausen is a state-approved rhythmic all-day school with scientific-technological, economic and linguistic branches.

Admission to the 5th grade does not begin with an examination or a special grade point average of 2.33, as is the case at public high schools, but with a detailed counseling interview with the school administration. The individual personality of the child is decisive.

The family environment with small classes and the special status of the approved grammar school allow pedagogical freedom to promote children and adolescents accordingly and to open up opportunities.

For over 30 years, our experienced teachers have been successfully guiding students to the Abitur. We also prepare them intensively for this important examination in an internal mock Abitur. The actual Abitur examination is then taken in cooperation with a state school.

It is important to us that our students achieve a good school leaving certificate. If they wish, we can also provide them with dedicated support for the Quali or Mittlerer Schulabschluss exams. And with our voluntary bridge class E11 as preparation for the Q11, we also offer them the opportunity to obtain the Abitur now in 9 years. Incidentally, this is also a good alternative for Realschule graduates to achieve the Abitur.

We keep class sizes as small as possible. To ensure that there is enough time and attention for the individual care and development of our students at our rhythmic all-day school, we employ pedagogical assistants. They accompany our students through the school day, are present in class and also support them with their homework.

Our students also receive support from our psychological and learning therapy team.

Article 53 BayEug does not apply at the approved Gymnasium. This means that advancement is based on individual regulations and admission to grades 6-11 has no age restriction. For students from abroad there is an unlimited guest student status.

Our info nights will be held on February 25 and May 6, 2021 at 6:30 pm each night.

We look forward to seeing you there!
