Internat Schloss Neubeuern

School of the future
The boarding high school Schloss Neubeuern – “Germany’s most modern school” (Galileo).

Schloss Neubeuern is a state-recognized boarding high school with a scientific-technological and economic profile and the additional option of learning Spanish as a third foreign language. Around 230 students live in a family-like community of boarders and day students, whose emotional bond often lasts a lifetime. Schloss Neubeuern aims to impart future-oriented knowledge. Thus, small classes with a maximum of 15 students enable innovative learning and individual support according to their respective abilities.

Digital teaching – new perspectives and spatially independent

All classrooms are equipped with a data projector, wireless display adapter, Apple TV and gigabit WLAN to enable interesting and media-supported lessons and to impart the IT skills required today in a subject-related manner. Starting in grade 5, students gain intensive IT experience on their school iPads, which are available to them in class, as well as for homework and free time. From the 9th grade onwards, the school completely converts lessons to working with a tablet PC. This allows structured and cross-curricular storage of school knowledge. All in all, an interactive and multimedia learning environment is created that allows a departure from traditional frontal teaching and opens up completely new didactic possibilities – competencies that even enable uninterrupted and efficient distance learning.

Global Thinking

A strong vocational focus in 10th grade and high-profile internships with former students opens students’ eyes to the world of tomorrow. Exciting lectures by speakers with unusual careers, video conferences with companies from around the world, and career-related profile subjects support personal development. Even in the lower school, the additional profile subject “Entrepreneurship” playfully conveys a feeling for the reality of the professional world. A worldwide student exchange and the International Department successfully integrate the approximately 60 students from around 15 nations into the boarding school community, thus preparing all students for cultural encounters and cultural intelligence – a central challenge of our globalized world.

Promoting social competence

The intensive study of value education has a very high priority at Schloss Neubeuern. Social commitment is emphasized and manifests itself, for example, in obligatory social services and the integrative class trip of the 9th grades. Team sports with school teams in tennis, climbing, mountain biking, soccer, basketball and volleyball create a special sense of community. Artistic-musical, handicraft and social leisure and weekend activities provide variety and relaxation and bring valuable experience and knowledge for later life.

Schloss Neubeuern educates its students in a harmonious balance of tradition and innovation – with a great deal of attention, encouragement and support, but also with a very high degree of consistency and clear demands for responsibility and performance.

True to our nature – towards the future

The view of the beautiful Alpine panorama is one of the defining impressions of a stay at Schloss Neubeuern. Against this natural backdrop, the impressive castle architecture of the 18th and 19th centuries, with its spacious terraces and the legend of the “Blue Lady”, is inspiring in many ways. The large boarding school parties and balls, as well as the daily luncheon, take place in premises to which the famous poet Hugo von Hofmannsthal already lent his splendor around 1900 as part of the literary “Neubeurer Woche”. In this historical setting, timeless traditional values of responsibility, respect and independence are conveyed. In order to express our community visually, our students wear a uniform school uniform during the school day.
